WHAT ARE THE STEPS?
STEP ONE: CONTACT US
Click on the “Book an In-person Appointment/ Check-up Now” and fill in a brief form with your preferred hospital, date and time and the type of specialist you would like to consult with or contact us via WhatsApp.
STEP TWO: INITIAL CONTACT
An IMT Case Manager will get back to you to collect any available medical records related to the condition. The specialists at our partner hospitals use these to form a second opinion, come up with accurate treatment options and costs for treatment.
STEP THREE: PLANNING
An IMT client coordinator then takes the client through the medical treatment options provide by the specialist, fees and costs for accommodation, travel and visas to help the client to make an informed decision.
STEP FOUR: TREATMENT
Once a client has confirmed they want to proceed with the treatment, a client coordinator makes all the arrangements: books the treatment with our partner hospital, helps with the visa application, books suitable accommodation close to the hospital and can also book your flights.
We also go that extra step to ensure that our client has a trouble-free trip by staying in communication throughout the treatment and helping to resolve any thing that may come up.
STEP FIVE: POST TREATMENT AND RETURN
Finally, when the doctor gives the okay for the client to travel, we arrange the trip back home and carry out a follow-up to see how the client is doing, arrange for all medical records to be sent to the client’s local doctor, and arrange a post return consultation with their treating doctor to discuss the healing process.

STEP TWO: SUBMIT MEDICAL REPORTS
An IMT Case Manger will review all your information & medical records submitted. They will contact you to confirm your preferred hospital and specialist.
Once all information is sufficient to send to the specialist for the second opinion, we will share a secure payment link with you to make the payment via debit card or credit card.
STEP THREE: SPECIALIST REVIEW
AYour medical reports will then be shared with the chosen specialist at your chosen partner hospital. The specialist will then review all the information provided and compile a detailed second opinion within 3-5 business days.
STEP FOUR: DETAILED SECOND OPINION
Your IMT Case Manager will share with you the Detailed Second Opinion and set up a time for you to discuss with the specialist on a telemedicine consultation.
STEP FIVE: ONLINE TELEMEDICINE CONSULTATION
Log on and have your telemedicine consultation online at the agreed time with the specialist to discuss your case and allow you to ask any questions.

The model involves vigorous process of:
- Carrying out a comprehensive country and hospital assessment
- Undertaking a communication assessment to ensure quick feedback from the hospitals
- Assessing each hospital on various other metrics
- Continuous monitoring to ensure that we only continue to work with the best
- Your local doctor should not be offended because as they know that an inaccurate diagnoses can have sever consequences for patients and that it is challenging for any one doctor to know about every available option.
- Many doctors around the world will reach out to their colleagues for opinions on the cases, especially when a colleague has experience particular to a patient’s case. Getting a Second Opinion is the same.
- New treatments are appearing very rapidly, and a doctor’s background and experience handling complex cases matters. Not all doctors have such experience and so getting a second opinion can be important.
- Having additional information about your diagnosis and treatment can only be helpful to you. It should be your right to seek a medical second opinion.
A: After you have made your decision to proceed, we will set up a virtual consultation with your treating doctor.
International Medical Treatment Ltd uses various technologies that helps our clients to be able to have easy access to doctors and specialists prior to departure.
A: All the hospitals that we work with fluent English is spoken. For other languages, we are able to organize a translator for the most widely spoken languages such as Arabic, French and Portuguese for free.
A: You need to have your most recent (at most 6 months) medical records, imaging, pathology slides or any other test results relevant to your condition that will help the Specialist provide a second opinion for you. Please note that the medical records need to be in soft copies (that can be send Via WhastApp/ email).
A: All payments are made directly to the Hospitals. International Medical Treatment Ltd DOES NOT CHARGE clients to use our coordination services.
A: At IMT we receive a marketing commission from the treating hospital. This is the case because by us linking a patient with a hospital, the hospital has saved on coordination and marketing costs.
However, it is important to note that the commission paid to us does not increase the cost that the patient will pay for the medical treatment.
The patient will pay the hospital the same amount for the medical treatment if the client chooses to deal directly with the treating hospital her or himself and not use our services.
Despite the commissions, our primary aim is to secure the best quality service for our clients. Quality without compromise.
A: At International Medical Treatment (IMT) we understand that our clients have insurance from different providers and that insurance policies are different. Thus, we advise our clients to contact their insurance provide to see if their policy covers the cost of medical or health treatments overseas at our partner hospitals.
We have helped a number of people go overseas for their medical treatment that is covered by their local health insurance.
To add, with the permission of the client, we can help to discuss with their medical insurance provider on their behalf.
A: You will need a valid passport which has at least 6 months validity at the time of travel (or more depending on what treatment you are seeking and how long the treatment may last) and at least 2 free pages in your passport. You may need a visa to travel, however IMT can help with obtaining your visa.
